Terms of service
Last updated: October 29, 2026
These terms are an agreement between Proof of Route (“we”) and the company that signs up (“you”). By using Proof of Route, you agree to them on behalf of your company. People you invite (your crews, office staff and customers) use it under your account.
The service
Proof of Route is software for running route-based service work: jobs, routes, GPS proof of service, photos, customer reports, invoices, card payments and timesheets. We may improve or change features over time; we won't take away something central to the service without telling you first.
Your account
- Keep sign-in details private and turn on two-step sign-in for admins. You're responsible for what happens under your account and for the people you invite.
- You'll tell your crews that their location is recorded while they're on shift or working a job, and get any consent your local law requires.
- Don't use the service for anything illegal, to track people who haven't agreed to it, to send spam, or to try to break or overload it.
Your data
Your jobs, customers, photos and records belong to you. You give us permission to store and process them only to provide the service to you. We handle personal information as described in our privacy policy. You can export your records, and when you leave we'll delete your data within 90 days, apart from what the law requires us to keep.
Plans and payment
- Pricing is per route per month, as shown on our pricing page. New accounts start with a free trial. After that, the subscription renews each month until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time; the service keeps working until the end of the month you've paid for. We don't refund partial months.
- If a payment fails and isn't fixed, we may pause the account after telling you; nothing is deleted while it's paused.
- Card payments your customers make to you are handled by Stripe under Stripe's own terms, and the money goes to your Stripe account. We're not a party to those payments.
- We'll give at least 30 days' notice before changing prices.
Availability
We work to keep Proof of Route running and backed up, but we can't promise it will never be interrupted. Keep your own copies of anything you'd need in an emergency.
Limits
The service is provided “as is”. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as lost profits or lost contracts), and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or doesn't pay, after telling you, except where we must act immediately to protect the service or other people.
General
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. If we change them, we'll update the date above and tell admins before the change takes effect. Questions: use the form on our homepage.
